Happy Birthday

Well, I have made it to 61 - now to try for 62. I spend the day down with one of my bad headaches but I have vowed not to go back to the ER. Just for the record, I have quit smoking and plan not to ever buy them again. If I don't buy, I will not use. I must do some sewing this next week as I have joined a new group and signed up for a swap. I am trying to do more sewing and get back into my old swing but it is hard as I don't have much energy. Must run for now.

Friday

Well it is finally Friday.... Another week of school, life and all that jazz done. I have been trying to sew some each day. I am working on a Christmas quilt that is being published in a magazine that I take. It is one of Bonnie Hunter - who is a quilt teacher that I have been following for several years. I have so many of UFOs that I can't even list them. They are everywhere. The Voyager is just sitting waiting on me to get with the program but the energy level just has not been there is a long while. I am new to this blogging and need to do it on a regular basis to stay in touch with my distant family. I have grandkids that are all over the world. To each and everyone of them I do think of you all daily and miss you all a lots. Hopefully my health will continue to improve and I can make another trip back to TN in 2010. Love GMAW

The Start of my Blog.....

I am starting this blog to keep in touch with the children, grandchildren and ggrandchildren. I was an only child who always said I would take whatever was delivered to me. I had four children who are now entering their 40s. After my first husband died in 1997, I remarried a man who loves children and accepted all of mine as his. He even considers the children his first wife had after they divorced as his and loves them all.
I am a quilter and had made many quilts prior to having an aneurism in March 2007. They said mine was the same kind of aneurism that Sharon Stone had. I had to learn to walk, talk, etc. again. After 2 months of rehab, I lost my oldest daughter who left me her five (5) children between the ages of 11 and 18. We have adopted the youngest son, Joey, who is now 13. We also have the 15 year old, Zoe.
As though 2 teenagers are not enough, we have taken the responsibility of 2 of Ron's grandsons, Eric and Justin - 15 and 16. Eric is playing junior varsity football and Zoe is in the high school band. Eric, Justin and Zoe are all in the 10th grade and Joey is in the 8th grade. Joey is on the yearbook staff this year and very involved in the UIL program.
A few years back, I sorta set a personal goal to make each grandchild a quilt. I have giving that goal up as I just do not think I can do that but will try by making more quilts and they can fight over them.
